Because the InternalContour method of vtkPolyhedron does not perform any refinement, it is possible to construct a concave polyhedron that, when clipped or contoured, will have self-intersecting faces.
The mean-value-coordinates interpolant does not guarantee convexity except on convex planar polygonal facets.
The attached example (which also appears to be incorrectly triangulated) produces self-intersecting faces when isovolumed with range [1.5,6.0].
