Inconsistent behavior of Start method in renderwindow interactor between Linux and Mac Carbon

Assuming everything is connected together (render window interactor `i', renderwindow 'w', renderer 'r' and a basic actor/mapper/sphere source) but nothing having be renderered yet,
- on Linux, the following single call
i->Start();
is enough to bring up a window on a screen with a centered object and being interactive.
- on Mac with Carbon (tested on Tiger), the program return with no window and no interaction. Prior to i->Start() the following line is required to create the window:
i->Initialize();
and the following lines are required to actually center and render something: r->ResetCamera(); w->Render();
