Volume rendering inversely scales performance with added processors
This issue was created automatically from an original Mantis Issue. Further discussion may take place here.
Volume rendering slows down at an unacceptable rate as you add processors. Using fluid.e (ask me for this one), we get the following performance for a first frame as we render: 1 processor, 1 file - 8 seconds 32 processors, 32 files - 140 seconds. A subsequent rotation took over 1 minute to start, then redraws were quick. (There are also artifacts all over this object, which do not occur with 1 processor. I believe this is another example of 7686.)
This is the same data, just broken up.
