IOSS reader is slow loading restarts
The IOSS reader is slow loading restarts. Here is how to replicate this.
- Make a sandbox directory. Inside there, add can.ex2 to the directory, then run python3 makeLotsOfFiles.py. Tarball attached. We now have 256 versions of can.exo and another 256 versions of can as restart 2.
- Master (v5.11.1-1525-g2c497308), builtin server, Linux.
- Tools/ Manage Plugins. Load the Legacy Exodus reader.
- Load canLotsO.e.256.*. Lets use the Legacy Exodus reader first.
- Load times for me are 0 seconds to get to the apply button. Time to then load is 65 seconds. 65 seconds total.
- (You may need to reboot in order to flush caches here. As I am working with dozens of coworkers on this disk, I just wait 5 or 10 minutes.)
- Load canLotsO.e.256.*. Lets use the IOSS reader.
- Load times for me are 90 seconds to get to the apply button, then 32 seconds to load, total 122 seconds total.
The IOSS reader needs to be as fast as the Exodus reader.
Marking showstopper as this shouldn't go past 5.13.0.

If desired, I can get this in a debugger and see if I can figure out what is going on. Let me know if I can help.
