Self-directed Tutorial typos / opportunities for clarifications
@kmorel et al., thank you very much for the self-directed tutorial. As a new user, I found it extremely helpful.
A few things that I missed or wished for more detail (or an in situ pointer to it):
- Where/how are ParaView customizations/preferences saved, e.g., what happens if I use another machine or upgrade my version?
- A section in Basic Usage about saving a session and replaying it with new data that may have different file names. If I'm reading between the lines correctly, the answer is the next Batch Python Scripting section, e.g., trace the session and reuse programmatically via
pvpython
(which left me wondering how to always have tracing turned or the possible downsides of doing so). Sidenote: 'was surprised when I tried to initiate a saved session viaparaview session_name.pvsm
and was greeted by a "don't recognize format" popup; learned about--state
. - When using camera link, how to also link property settings, e.g., switch all representations from variable P to variable T.
The following are areas in which I stumbled or noticed what appear to be typos; presented in the format of link followed by brief discussion:

"as demonstrated in the following figure."
Not clear which figure this refers to or if it is even present.
"The () provides the basic visualization and rendering algorithms."
What is '()'?
"you may apply any number of that process the data"
??
"Thus the primary used"
The primary data?
"In addition to these basic data types, ParaView also supports data."
Not sure what is meant by the generic "data" term here; perhaps, "other data types"? (which are described in the remainder of the paragraph)

"data that either included"→ "data that is included"

"Chemisty" → "Chemistry"

"you to change plot=wide"
??

"including Id lists"
Is "Id" intentional here? I'm unsure what it is supposed to mean, e.g., "identifier"? I.e., it's not in the english dictionary.

"(ParaView supports an in situ"
closing parenthesis missing; in situ in english dictionary, so no need for italics.
"third-party applications such as IDLE"
For those unfamiliar, spell out as "Python’s Integrated Development and Learning Environment"?

"that that" → "that"
https://docs.paraview.org/en/latest/Tutorials/SelfDirectedTutorial/visualizingLargeModels.html
Given the proceeding rainbow colormap discussion, I was very surprised to see most of the showcase visualizations used it!?
"from from" → "from"
"whenever we hit ."
missing pqConnect.svg button icon?
"utiliites" → "utilities"
"one more click"→"once more click"
"try using Zlib instead of Squirt"
Zlib or LZ4?
"definining" → "defining"
"to updates" → "to update"
