openfoam: DecomposePolyhedra mismatch between ParaView and VTK
In Remoting/Application/Resources/readers_ioparallel.xml
the value for decompose polyhedral is set as "1", but in the VTK code it is initialized as false. This means that many people are loading OpenFOAM meshes with an explosive number of decomposed cells. I thought that it was previously disabled in the XML, but could be wrong. Nonetheless, I'll take @utkarsh.ayachit on the issue since he seems to last one to have touched that xml file, but @mwestphal might find it interesting as well.
No patch from my side, since a merge request would be even more overhead than someone at kitware making the single character change, but at least with an issue number for it.
For what it's worth: would eventually like to ditch the decomposition entirely. It doesn't exist in things like the Ensight reader either, and would be nice to remove a whole pile of code cruft from the VTK reader. Perhaps need to make a VTK issue for that?
Cheers,
