Cinema: image extract without timesteps works interactively, not in batch (Catalyst)
Found with 5.9.0-RC3 on MacOS 10.14.6. Using this state time_source_notimesteps.pvsm to load disk_out_ref.ex2. I am running this test script test_cdb_notimesteps.xml interactively which saves extracts and a catalyst script. The catalyst script runs in batch using the filedriver mini app. Interactively this works as expected, but in batch nothing is saved. Not even an output directory is created.
To reproduce:
(Interactive)
- Load disk_out_ref.ex2
- Add image extractor (PNG)
- Save extracts to
data/interactive/test_cdb_notimesteps.cdb
, check box to generate cinema spec (works) - File -> save catalyst state (test_cdb_notimesteps.py)
- Set extract location to
data/batch/test_cdb_notimesteps.cdb
- Set start and end time to 0 and check both boxes
- Check box to generate cinema spec
(batch) 5. Run catalyst script with:
$ /Applications/ParaView-5.9.0-RC3.app/Contents/bin/pvbatch -sym -m paraview.demos.filedriver_miniapp -g "/Applications/ParaView-5.9.0-RC3.app/Contents/examples/disk_out_ref.ex2" -s test_cdb_notimesteps.py

$ ls data/batch/test_cdb_notimesteps.cdb

Step 5 exits with a zero exit code, even though there is no output produced.
