VTK_MODULE_ENABLE_ParaView_RemotingCinema cmake option does not work properly
If you try to disable the cinema option via, e.g.
cmake -DVTK_MODULE_ENABLE_ParaView_CinemaPython:STRING=NO;-DVTK_MODULE_ENABLE_ParaView_RemotingCinema:STRING=NO
you get a configure error that says RemotingCinema requires CinemaPython, even though you have supposedly turned of the RemotingCinema module. The workaround I found was to alter
<paraviewsource>/CMake/ParaViewOptions.cmake
by addressing the following section:
paraview_require_module(
CONDITION PARAVIEW_BUILD_CANONICAL AND PARAVIEW_ENABLE_RENDERING AND PARAVIEW_USE_PYTHON
MODULES ParaView::RemotingCinema)
and either commenting it out or surrounding it with a new paraview variable like
if (NOT PARAVIEW_DISABLE_REMOTINGCINEMA)
paraview_require_module(
CONDITION PARAVIEW_BUILD_CANONICAL AND PARAVIEW_ENABLE_RENDERING AND PARAVIEW_USE_PYTHON
MODULES ParaView::RemotingCinema)
endif()
