Runtime crash on Cray, Debug builds

We are seeing a crash, server side, starting up pvserver on Cray clusters (Mutrino). Here is the error:

pvserver: /paraviewSourceTree/ParaView5/Remoting/Views/vtkPVMaterialLibrary.cxx:63: vtkPVMaterialLibrary::vtkPVMaterialLibrary(): Assertion `!vtklibs.empty()' failed.

Any thoughts? Is this bad? I will try commenting out the assert.
