Point Gaussian is slow in comparison to old Point Sprite
It appears that Point Gaussian representation is super-super-slow in comparison to the old Point Sprite plugin.
To reproduce, use PV 5.4:
- Create a Wavelet with >= 20000 points
- Apply the Tetrahedralize filter
- Enable the Point Gaussian representation (let default size and Sphere shader).
- Interact: it is really slow.
Perform the same with an old PV (eg. 4.4 on with you load the PointSprite plugin), it is really fast.
