Regression of tick placement in color bar
This issue was created automatically from an original Mantis Issue. Further discussion may take place here.
There has been a regression of tick placement in the color bar. Back in 4.3 the ticks of the color bar were placed in human sensible places that have value. Since 4.4 the tick placement has regressed to put them wherever.
To replicate, do the following:
- Open disk_out_ref. Load all variables. Apply.
- Color by Temp.
The Temp array is in the range 293.1 to 913.2. (All versions report that well enough.) In ParaView 4.3 the major middle ticks are placed at 450, 600, and 750, which is pretty sensible. In ParaView 5.1 (and 4.4 and 5.0) the major middle ticks are placed at 448.15, 603.15, and 758.15. This placement is worthless.
I'm sure there was a valid technical reason why the tick placement changed, but this regression is the software development equivalent of killing a puppy. Something that makes you inherently more happy is senselessly destroyed.
