Volume rendering is broken, Mesa
This issue was created automatically from an original Mantis Issue. Further discussion may take place here.
Volume rendering seems to be broken with Mesa rendering. When running on software rendered client, master, local server (and remote server), and you try to volume render, you get an error saying GL_VERSION_1_3 is needed. Here is an e-mail I wrote to Utkarsh (since I can't run ParaView right now - this seems to have killed my Linux system!)
ERROR: In /projects/viz/paraview/src/ParaView/4.2.0-alan/ParaView4/VTK/Rendering/VolumeOpenGL/vtkOpenGLProjectedTetrahedraMapper.cxx, line 185 vtkOpenGLProjectedTetrahedraMapper (0x54649c0): The required extensions are not supported.
Warning: In /projects/viz/paraview/src/ParaView/4.2.0-alan/ParaView4/VTK/Rendering/OpenGL/vtkOpenGLExtensionManager.cxx, line 750 vtkOpenGLExtensionManager (0x2bb0c90): Attempting to load GL_VERSION_1_3, which is not supported.
To replicate, just bring in disk_out_ref, all vars on, Apply. Now, paint by Temp, and Volume render.
Ask me if I missed anything (i.e., if the issue actually isn't ParaView but was probably on my side, which is possible.)
