EDIT: This is not normal behavior, investigating regression

Instruct users to Press the Apply Button in the properties Panel. Highly overlooked detail.

Note: This should go along with some User-friendly App changes (auto-apply on GUI actions), however we should also offer paraview oriented tutorials.
