Slac updates jan 2018

Various updates, mostly to cumulus extension, which isn't built by default. Also a minor bug fix to XmlDocV1Parser for sub-group labels, and better aesthetics for non-extensible group items. Finally, a fix to exodus sessions to save the extension of the input model instead of assuming it is .exo .
