Release: arm64 Windows binaries
https://cmake.org/download/ offers aarch64 binaries for macOS and Linux but nothing for Windows.
I have configured CMake 3.23.0 with CMake 3.23.0 and Ninja 1.10.2 as:
- x64 binaries: 102 s
- arm64 binaries: 39 s
As you can see the native arm64 binaries are significantly faster. The test was done on a Samsung Galaxy Book Go 5G with Windows 11 and an Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen2 CPU.
One can create Windows arm64 binaries with a native arm64 compiler https://github.com/mstorsjo/llvm-mingw or with MSVC 2019+. For MSVC 2019 the cross-compiler needs to be selected in the individual components in the Visual Studio installer:
