OpenWatcom Integration Problems
I am working on cross-compilation stuff and multiple host platforms supported for Open Watcom with CMake. There are a few problems for me:
- wmake can be used as standalone tool with other compilers that predefined Open Watcom compilers should not be used by wmake generator, selection of wmake generator doesn't imply use of Open Watcom toolchain
- for cross-compilation each target requires to call different tools, by example for 16-bit targets wcl tool must be used, that first decisiom must be if Open Watcom toolchain is used or not and next select right compiler in dependency on CMAKE_SYSTEM_PROCESSOR
- primary identification of Open Watcom toolchain is presence of 'WATCOM' environment variable which define Open Watcom toolchain root directory, it must be combined with availability of Open Watcom compiler on the PATH or by other CMake methods to find compiler. WATCOM environment can be defined but other compiler can be configured by CC environment variable can be defined with non-Open Watcom compilers, that some priority in identification method for Watcom or non-Watcom compiler must be defined
I am not much familiare with internal CMake processing, that any comment is velcome.
