Priorities for 2022
In relation to #187 (alignment with funded proposal), #188 (priorities for 2021) and the discussion in early 2022, the following is a list of priorities for development in the upcoming year:
- Hardening and comprehensive testing of full annotation workflows
- coordinate systems and object positioning and orientation with transformations
- templated annotation allowing region assignment, e.g. for connectivity
- annotation for data provenance, parent and sister objects, e.g. different meshes of the same anatomical structure, segmentation from image, surface geometry from segmentation, surface geometry from other geometry
- automated annotation from template, i.e., once tissue types are assigned, automated connectivity assignment and related region definitions
- CAD support beyond file input
- meshing of CAD objects
- geometry generation, e.g. lofting, NURBS patching
- drawing on images
- Extended data exchange
- Bidirectional data transfer from aevaSlicer and aevaCMB, e.g., read/write support for MRML and SMTK in both
- Bidirectional data exchange in other FEA formats, e.g. read/write support of geometry in FEBio (potentially leveraging meshio)
- Python scripting
- example scripts
- example plug-ins
- Convenience features, hardening of readily implemented features
- resource copying
- mesh to mesh field data transfer (potentially leveraging the resources in #146)
- usability improvements
- Community outreach
- population aeva videos
- additional end-to-end tutorials
- publications
