Geometric properties calculated/assigned as annotation
In aevaCMB, it may be useful to be able to calculate surface area, volume, oriented bounding box (dimensions and axes), and barycenter for individual anatomical objects. This may be desirable for regions, that may be open surfaces or point clouds, as well, i.e. surface area, oriented bounding box, and center of surface (e.g. approximated by barycenter projected on the surface). This come up in a discussion with Jason Halloran's group as they are trying to use aeva software suite. We also use the oriented bounding box, e.g. for ligaments to assign a gross fiber direction.
