Recent Release builds for Mac

The last two releases do not have Mac builds; is there any plans to build these for current or future releases? I spent a good deal of time previously trying to build and package 4.4.0 myself from source, and while I was able to get it running once, I was ultimately not successful in putting together a fully packaged binary.
