Add ability to remove annotations from rendered images for regression testing

Annotations in rendered images can cause non-deterministic differences with the text kernelling. In order to make regression testing images more stable for multiple operating systems and compilers it should be an option to remove annotations (axis data, color bar) from the rendered images.
