CMake's translation map gets in the way in places; use REALPATH
everywhere.

Non-executable files can't be installed via install(PROGRAMS).

The inputs are already only found via CMake references (always in the
tree) or by globs and symlinks should never cross root directories.

The paraviewsdk package uses list(FILTER) which is new in 3.6.

Appending to long lists takes a long time; this helps keep things moving
smoothly.

It doesn't work with the two-pass system properly.
