"failed to unprotect the source branch" on merged MR

After posting !311 (comment 1223958) while watching the ghostflow-director log, I noticed this:

failed to unprotect the source branch for <MR-URL>: gitlab error: gitlab server error: 404 Branch Not Found

The unprotect logic is running even for merged MRs, and maybe closed MRs.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
