test/end-to-end: failures due to gitlab 502/409 statuses

The end-to-end test sometimes fails with output like:

... Adding the user fork...
curl: (22) The requested URL returned error: 502
... warn: got a 5xx error; retrying
curl: (22) The requested URL returned error: 409
... error: failed to get the id of the user fork
To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
