test/end-to-end: Status check timing with GitLab 14.0

Even after !288 (merged) I'm not able to get the end-to-end test to pass after several tries. See discussion in !287 (comment 975244).

One of the check_status calls randomly fails, but manual checking shows the expected status becomes present sometime later.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
