| Configuring your Slicer build: Slicer can be customized using the Application Settings Interface. Open this utility by selecting View->Application Settings from the File Menu, or by using the F2 hot-key. Any options selected in this panel will be saved in the Application Registry and restored each time you start Slicer. Many useful options are provided within the interface's sub-panels: font family and size can be adjusted using the Font Settings panel, the Slicer Settings panel allows you to specify paths to web browsers and other useful applications, and the Remote Data Handling Settings panel allows you to select data caching options. |

Adding and Removing Modules: Slicer has two basic types of modules, Loadable Modules and Command Line Plugins. By default, Slicer starts up with all modules included. You can customize Slicer to include only the Loadable and Command Line modules you need; which keeps Slicer as compact as possible and accelerates application startup time.
