VisIt libsim metadata requirements

Libsim needs mesh type and the number of local and global domains before accessing any data. Currently the adaptor uses the GetCompleteMesh DataAdaptor method, but that could be quite expensive for simulations that source multiple meshes and the analysis does not make use of all of them. Currently the mesh is cached in the adaptor, but this is cumbersome and duplicative.
