Transform filter rotation about local axes

When you apply the transform filter, you can move the outline box with the mouse, which rotates the object about its local coordinate system. However, the rotation matrix specified in the object inspector properties rotates around the world coordinate system. It would be nice to also have a "local rotation" option, that translates the center of mass of the object to the world origin, applies the rotation, and performs the inverse translation to put the model back where it was. You could, for example, specify 180 degree rotation about the local z axis which would "flip" the model in place.
