Edit server in ParaView of a default_servers.pvsc file fails
This issue was created automatically from an original Mantis Issue. Further discussion may take place here.
If a user tries to edit a server using ParaView, sections of the default_servers.pvsc file are deleted.
Found on PV 3.4.0, XP.
If you have one, delete or rename your Documents and Settings\yourName\Application Data\ParaView\servers.pvsc file.
Copy the attached default_servers.pvsc file to your \Program Files\ParaView 3.4.0\bin directory.
Run ParaView. Edit/Connect. Select a Sandia server (i.e., use our configuration - example is uploaded) Edit Server
- First issue - you cannot edit this server. You must make a copy of it first. But, it is confusing how to make this copy. This needs to be clearer -
Save Select the Sandia server again. Edit the string, for instance add your name before the _go. Save. Close Exit ParaView. Now, edit the default file, and the new one you made - servers.pvsc. Compare what has happened to the commands between these two files. They should, and must, match - except for the minor edit you did.
