Rendering interrupts not working

Right now the rendering interrupts never seem to work.
Create a data set with a lot of polygons. For example, create a wavelet with an extent that goes from -100 to 100 along each axis (the result will have 8 million cells at take about 32 MB of data). Now run the contour filter with a range of 5 contours. The on my machine the interactive render is reasonably fast but the still render takes many seconds. If I try to move the camera again while the still render is going, I have to wait for it to complete before interactively rendering again.
