Exodus restart files fail with state files.
When a user loads a state file that opens a dataset with restart files in it, the file load fails. This is important to have because state files are frequently used for large, slow visualizations. Restarts also often occur with large visualizations, such as when you run out of wall time. There are two manifestations of this issue, one with the raw restart files, the second with a .ex-timeseries file. Here is how to replicate:
- 5.6.0 (also master, v5.6.0-1312-g8ce81b84), Linux, builtin server.
- Open canRS.e (tarball attached). Apply.
- Save state file.
- Reset session
- Load state file. Notice that all timesteps of can were NOT loaded.
Another way to show the same thing:
- 5.6.0 (also master, v5.6.0-1312-g8ce81b84), Linux, builtin server.
- Open restartFiles.ex-timeseries (tarball attached). Apply.
- Save state file.
- Reset session
- Load state file. Notice that all timesteps of can were NOT loaded.
