Image Stack Broken?

With the cancellation of Volview, I am unaware of how to load a dataset into Paraview as a series of images.

I can load the either .tif or .png images, but they only the first image appears as 2D data having no Z depth.

All attempts a viewing as a Volume fail and Paraview lock up my computer, somehow blocking all keyboard and mouse interrupts.

[Does Paraview somehow adjust its priority on Windows? I have run many heavy-hitter science applications including 3D meshing for FEM and CFD, and I am unaccustomed of this behavior.]

I am not aware of any open-source tools to do what Volview did. I had assumed that Volview's functionality was merged into Paraview.

I am disheartened not only for the needs of my own project, but also that without Volview's functionality, Paraview's users will find it more difficult to work with natural datasets.
