paraview crashes when open vtk file with unusual unstructured grid cell id notation
This issue was created automatically from an original Mantis Issue. Further discussion may take place here.
Hi,
I think I found a bug in paraview. I am using debian squeeze and wheezy with paraview version 3.14.1 and 3.98.1 (both 64bit).
I am using YADE to simulate a fluid flow through particle assembly. The problem occurs with the fluid cells, which are tetrahedrons. Each cell has four vertices and I created two vtk outputs:
*The first output has vertex ids from 1 to 276 and it works fine in paraview (see attachment fine.vtk):
...
CELLS 1237 6185 4 122 268 171 172 4 105 7 127 38 4 66 230 29 233 4 13 10 263 217
...
*The second model creates ids like 280, 284, 288, ... 1380. The rest of the output is the same (or nearly the same: positions may vary a little bit). Trying to open this file leads to a crash of paraview on both of my machines (see attachment crash.vtk).
...
CELLS 1237 6185 4 768 1352 964 968 4 700 308 788 432 4 544 1200 396 1212 4 824 696 520 416
...
I copied the CELLS part from fine.vtk into crash.vtk and it works fine. So the problem must be the different id notation.
Can anyone please help me on this?
With kind regards,
Christian
