I am starting using Paraview 4.0.1 . If I open a pvd from the command line as open -a paraview filename.pvd I get a window, title Open data with ... asking me for a reader! (see screenshot at the end). The list of readers is empty. If I select ok or cancel the data is read. If open directly from paraview, no message like that appears. The expected behaviour is to open the pvd file directly without any reader question, or at least to show the pvd reader in the reader list.
I am working in Mac OS X 10.8.4, with the latest stable paraview release, paraview-4.0.1-darwin-64bit.dmg. This also happens for the Lion version. AND ALSO HAPPENS FOR .vtp files.
