Usability issues with selections
This issue was created automatically from an original Mantis Issue. Further discussion may take place here.
There are some usability problems with the selection in line charts. I notice all of these with the line plot created with the default plot over line applied to the default wavelet source.

The default interaction is to pan with the left button and select with the right button. When you click any of the +, -, or +/- buttons, the interaction changes to select with the left and do nothing with the right. At the very least you should still be able to select with the right button. I don't know if it's a good idea to change the binding of the left button. An alternative could be to have no buttons bound to selection by default and only enable selection when one of the selection buttons is pressed. (It always surprises me that the right button does not zoom.)
-
After you click on one of the +, -, or +/- buttons and then toggle it back off again, panning with the left button no longer works.
-
With normal selection with the right button or with selection with the +/- buttons, making an empty selection does not clear out the selection, but it should. As it stands right now there is no way to clear out the selection.

The - selection does not seem to do anything. I select some points, then press the - selection button, then rubber band around some selected points. Nothing happens.
