If you compile paraview without MPI, the manta view does not work. This worked a few months ago, but for some reason the non MPI viewproxy (vtkSMMantaClientServerViewProxy views, MantaClientServerRenderView) no longer works today.
The error message you get when you try to create the MantaView follows. GDB says that the undo/redo infrastructure is walking a null pointer to the view's render window interactor.

I found a bug when I want to Save an Animation.
Mesh size: 650000 Elements
Version: Paraview 3.8.0
Operation System: Linux Fedora core 12
This is the sequence of operations I have done.
- Start paraview as client-server by using pvserver.
Load simulation, format EnSight Binary Gold.
Used Filters
Temporal Interpolator. Value 0
Clip -> Clip Type : Plane
Clip -> Clip Type : Scalar -> Scalars : Front Tracking
Glyph -> Glyph type : Arrow
Annotate Time Filter.
Choose on the Animation View:
Mode : Sequence
No. Frames :60
Click on Edit -> Save Animation -> I saved in local computer in format .png
On the terminal, this error occur.
/usr/local/bin/start_pvserver.sh: line 12: 21261 Segmentation fault /usr/local/cnrc/paraview3_8/bin/pvserver -sp=$1
An other tentative was tried without using pvserver. Using the sames operations.
/usr/local/bin/start_paraview.sh: line 14: 3538 Segmentation fault /usr/local/cnrc/paraview3_8/bin/paraview
This bug was reported by a student working with us. I did the same operation and this is a bug. (Odile Lemay)

The quick launch is the greatest feature since the bread slicer. Unfortunately, it is so unobtrusive that it remains hidden to many users, and is thus not used as much as it should be.
The quick launch can be come self discoverable by simply adding entries to open it from the source and filters menu and then providing instructions right on the quick launch dialog. Detailed design is documented on this Wiki page:

One feature of importance that I see missing from the current Find Data query dialog box is a "freeze selection" action. I imagine a simple button that says Freeze Selection (or something better if you can think of it) that when clicked converts the current selection to an ID selection.
By default after you perform a query, the selected cells will change if you, for example, change the time and the queried fields change. That might be the desired behavior, but you might also desire to have those selected cells fixed and followed through time. To get the second case, a freeze selection button that converted the selection to IDs would do the trick.
When the selection is already an ID selection, the freeze selection button should be disabled.https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/10966What's the point of the Directory View tab in Python Shell2019-03-05T10:39:11-05:00Kitware RobotWhat's the point of the Directory View tab in Python Shell**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=10966). The Python Shell has a Directory View tab that contains a very sub-par file browser. This tab seems to do nothing other than confuse the GUI. Two simple things should be done:
1. Add an "Add" button to the Macros tab. When clicked, it opens the file browser to select a Python script on the local directory.
2. Get rid of the Directory View tab and everything in it.

When you use the Start Trace/Stop Trace buttons to trace actions within the GUI, the resulting script is greatly shortened by removing entries that match the defaults for the objects (that's good). However, when you use the 'Save State as Python' feature, it seems to dump everything regardless of the defaults. The resulting script would be much more readable if it also culled any values that match the default.https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/10963Load Selected button in Plugin Manager annoying2019-03-05T10:39:11-05:00Kitware RobotLoad Selected button in Plugin Manager annoying**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=10963). When you first open the Find Data dialog box, it is always blank regardless of what the current selection is. Instead, the dialog should be populated as best as possible with the current selection. At a minimum, the spreadsheet should show the data of the selection and the other buttons (selection color, labels) should reflect the current state of the selection.
If the selection also happens to be a query selection, the Find Data should be initialized to have that query filled in.https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/10961Invert Selection does not work for Query selections2019-03-05T10:39:11-05:00Kitware RobotInvert Selection does not work for Query selections**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=10961). When you open the Find Data dialog, it grabs the active object in the pipeline browser to perform the selection on. That is good, but then that object is fixed. You should be able to change it. Rather than display the object name in a label, it should be a combo box that allows you to change it.
When you change the object in the Find Data dialog, it should probably change the active object in the pipeline browser (and vice versa).

---
The line chart view is only able to plot series from a single block at a time. This is a very important use case for the line chart because filters like plot selection over time will place the data for each selected element in its own block.
Here is a simple example of a good use case:
1. Load out can.ex2, load all variables, apply.
2. Go to the last time step.
3. Edit -> Find Data.
4. Find all cells with EQPS >= 2.
5. After the selection is run, click the "Plot Selection Over Time" button.
6. Apply the filter and observe the plot.
Although many cells were selected, only one actually shows in the line chart view at a time. To view others, you have to go to the display panel and select different "blocks." This is unacceptable. You often need to compare the series against each other.https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/10958Edit/Find data command - find and calculate min and max variable for each tim...2018-08-28T09:39:51-04:00Kitware RobotEdit/Find data command - find and calculate min and max variable for each time step of an animation**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=10958).
