* ParaView 5.1.2, local server, Linux.
* This dataset has three vectors of interest - Q_XX, Q_YY and Q_ZZ, which are orthogonal to each other.
* Read data, all vars on, apply.
* Select one cell. I selected one on the surface, down at the bottom edge of the can. Extract Selection. Apply. Now, I have one cell to play with.
* Glyph. Vector == Q_XX, Scale Mode vector. Surprisingly, I got no vector at all. This is a bug.
* Choose incoming dataset. Split screen. Spreadsheet view. Look at Q_XX, Q_YY and Q_ZZ. Spread the Q_XX, and Q_YY, and Q_ZZ columns. Yep, they look orthogonal to me.
* Reset Session.
* Read data, all vars on, apply.
* Cell data to Point data filter. We now have the vectors at the corners of the cells.
* Glyph as above. Q_XX. Apply.
* Be sure pipeline browser is on the Cell Data to Point Data filter. Glyph as above. Q_YY. Apply.
* Be sure pipeline browser is on the Cell Data to Point Data filter. Glyph as above. Q_ZZ. Apply.
The three vectors are well behaved, and furthermore, are orthogonal.
So, with this dataset, glyphing of cell data doesn't work correctly, glyphing point data does work correctly.

* Select Output-1 in Pipeline Browser and create Histogram Filter.
* Stop Trace.
You should see something as follows when things work correctly:
```
...
# find source
compoundtestpdb_1 = FindSource('compoundtest.pdb')
# create a new 'Histogram'
histogram1 = Histogram(Input=OutputPort(compoundtestpdb_1,1))
```
==== Older Steps ====
How to reproduce :
* Open ParaView
* Start Tracing
* Open can.ex2
* Add a "Contigency Statistics" filter, apply
* Connect a "Group DataSet" filter to "Assesed Data" output, apply
* Stop Trace
In the resulting trace, the following line can be found :
```histogram1 = Histogram(Input=contingencyStatistics1_1)```
when it should be
```histogram1 = Histogram(Input=OutputPort(contingencyStatistics1_1, 1))```5.3Utkarsh AyachitUtkarsh Ayachithttps://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/17029ParaView 5.2.0 fails to compile against protobuf 3.1.02017-11-21T16:31:57-05:00Orion PoplawskiParaView 5.2.0 fails to compile against protobuf 3.1.0Updated Fedora Rawhide protobuf to 3.1.0. Manually entering the abs...There appears to be a bug in the file browser when running in client/server mode. File->Open results in no directory listing from the server side being displayed in the GUI, and no way to navigate directories. Manually entering the absolute path to a data file does open the file.5.3https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/16955Mac ParaView Crash while resizing window while waiting for Client Server Conn...2017-12-12T15:53:32-05:00John PatchettMac ParaView Crash while resizing window while waiting for Client Server ConnectionR![Screen_Shot_2016-10-06_at_9.16.37_AM](/uploads/120c2fd15eff2c40e4f00eb9a51cbffc/Screen_Shot_2016-10-06_at_9.16.37_AM.png)eplicated with ParaView 4.3.1 and ParaView 5.1.2 in LAL environment.

Launch ParaView with left click in the Dock.
Click Connect, pick a remote supercomputer, ssh window pops up all will look well, then while waiting for supercomputer allocation resize the ParaView client GUI window, and it “crashes”. See attachment. That is the GUI disappears and the attached message “ParaView quite unexpectedly…” appears in a new window.
ParaView 4.3.1 on Linux appears to not crash, so all is well with linux.
We are having a problem getting windows tested, but are continuing to work on it.
I would very much like to document this for ParaView 4.3.1 and ParaView 5.1.2, and test to make sure it doesn’t happen in the head/ParaView 5.2.0 , I will start that gitlab process after sending this mail.5.3https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/16954ospray volume shadows not working on windows2017-11-21T16:31:58-05:00David E.
