weird pause in animation

Utkarsh and I see this... I see it on Linux. Mark doesn't see it on Windows.
create a superquadric, hit accept animate phi roundness value from 0.1 to 1 hit play, and a pause is noticed at time = .2 stepping backwards, I see a pause between time = .5 and .4.
I don't see this with other start values.
