Easy mode shape animation
This issue was created automatically from an original Mantis Issue. Further discussion may take place here.
I just got finished removing the "Animate Warp" filter from filters.xml. This filter was part of the fix for bug #2713 (closed), which was supposed to make animating mode shapes easier (thanks to Dave Thompson for pointing that out).
The "Animate Warp" filter is identical to the "Warp (Vectors)" filter. The only difference in PV 2 was that the former has a custom panel that allows you to set the animation controls for the scale factor directly in the object inspector. Since we had not created one for PV 3, the two filters were identical in every way except for the name.
We should definitly readress this issue. For now I am leaving out the "Animate Warp" filter for two reasons. (1) We don't have time to re-implement the custom panel hack in time for ParaView 3.0. (2) We may be able to implement a better solution.
Dave Thompson suggested being able to do a special click (right click for example) on any item in the Object Inspector and set up a simple animation right there. That sounds possible for the autogenerated panels, but I worry about how to implement that in custom panels (short of by hand for each panel).
I'm also think that if the mode shape animation is only for Sandians, and Sandians always animate mode shapes from Exodus file, we could take care of this directly in the exodus file. The Exodus reader could just animate the mode shape itself in response to pipeline time requests (as mentioned in bug #4610 (closed)).
