Volume rendering is enabled for AMR data for ParaView 2.6. It should not be available for AMR data, as per Berk. This is a bug.
You can replicate this bug using the file 3D_AMR/spcth.0. Berk says that Kitware probably has this data file.
Load spcth.0. Display/Display style/Representation/ Volume Render.
To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
