test recording of menus doesn't work on Mac

This issue was created automatically from an original Mantis Issue. Further discussion may take place here.

Recording menu events doesn't work on the Mac. The mouse clicks and key presses aren't on Qt widgets, which the event recorder is assuming. QMenu still emits a triggered signal so maybe we can use that instead to record.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
