SNL: pick hangs on parallel server multiple files

This issue was created automatically from an original Mantis Issue. Further discussion may take place here.

The pick filter hangs if you use it on multiple servers with multiple (split) exodus files and then turn off blocks. It looks like the filter does not check on update to see if the server has no data for it to operate on. As an example:

  • Open parallel servers
  • load multiple exodus files
  • turn on selected element and node variables
  • use the Pick filter and select an element
  • try to turn off the extraneous blocks to better see the picked element
  • paraview locks up
To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
