Please rethink the Open File dialog, navigating to directories

There are times we want to navigate to a directory, but not chose a file. We need to rethink the Open File dialog, maybe creating a different dialog, such as Navigate to a Directory dialog. Here is an example where our current dialog doesn't make sense.

  • 5.8.1, remote server.
  • can.exo. Apply.
  • Add Extract Generator/ png.
  • File/ Save Extracts.
  • Now, lets navigate where we want these extracts (i.e., png's).

So, here are the issues I see:

  • We can select files, but should only be able to select directories.
  • The dialog says File Name, and Files of Type. This is confusing and wrong.
  • You can select a directory (and OK highlights), you can go INTO that directory (and OK no longer is highlighted). This is confusing.
