Grow and Shrink Selection does not work with Find Data

@cory.quammen

@patchett2002 told me about the new Grow and Shrink Selection functionality. Awesome stuff! Users have been asking about getting the neighbors of cells for a long time, as they often want to investigate a certain neighborhood for debugging purposes.

I found a problem, though. If you use the Edit -> Find Data dialogue to query and highlight certain cells, then immediately try to use Grow Selection, it does not work. I need to reselect the cells using another method before Grow Selection works. I tried this on the master of Paraview as of Monday, March 16. I'm running on a Mac laptop.

How to reproduce:

  • use Find Data to query to a specific cell, it looks like the cell is selected in the render view
  • close the Find Data dialogue box
  • click on the Grow Selection button, nothing happens for me

Btw, is there some way to zoom into a selection? If you have a very large dataset, and you just highlight one cell, it's sometimes hard to figure out where this one cell is.
