Windows .avi's look really bad

Avi's created on Windows 10 look really rough.

  • Windows 10, 5.6.0-rc3, builtin server.
  • can.exo. Apply.
  • -Y
  • File/ Save Annimation/ save as .avi. Take defaults.

This Windows created looks like 8 bit color. There are bands in the color! Linux looks fine.

@cory.quammen @utkarsh.ayachit Mind taking a look at this one? Can you replicate? I am pushing this to 5.7, unless you feel this is a showstopper. I wish I had found this earlier, but don't want to impact the release. Issue shows in 5.5.2, and in 5.0.1
