Paraview hangs in vtkEnSight6BinaryReader::ReadTensorsPerNode
After using gdb to pinpoint the problem I am pretty sure that this is a vtk problem in vtkEnSight6BinaryReader::ReadTensorsPerNode (symmetric tensors with 6 floats per node).
The ensight case file were this occurs is pretty simple. It is 80 characters header and then 6 floats for a number of points. Counting bytes (80+64nbNodes) I see that the file size exactly matches. Furthermore, comparing with scalar and vector functions, everything works fine. Also, the ens_checker tool does not complain and does not find any errors in the ensight data. So I am pretty sure that the input data is fine. Furthermore, storing everything (scalars, vectors and symmetric tensors) in ascii format, which is usually more difficult and fragile, works perfectly.
I have attached a small example, showing the behaviour.
This has been observed with the official Paraview-5.4.1 64bit Linux release.
