Extract block called from Python script does not work properly

With a Python script I open a *.vtm file and then apply an Extract Block script to it. The Extract Block is then displayed in a Render View. Now the correct block is extracted and shown. However, there are two cases:

case 1: In case the original vtm file is shown (and optionally hidden) then the box for the block that was just extracted is ticked. Ok.

case 2: In case the original vtm file is never displayed then the box for the block that was just extracted is not ticked. Thus, if I do something later (e.g. calculator) and apply, the extract block will now result in an empty dataset.

Minimal python script using the data from #17043 vtm_tick.py
