connecting to remote pvserver from windows paraview gui freezes/stops rendering during connection wait.

This issue was created automatically from an original Mantis Issue. Further discussion may take place here.

If you are trying to manually connect to a remote pvserver from a windows machine (running the paraview gui), and you hit the 'connect' button before you start the pvserver on the remote machine, the paraview on the local windows machine becomes unresponsive and appears frozen. An output window appears, but just the frame and it never gets filled in. Nothing in the ParaView gui on the windows machine refreshes and you can't do anything with the window. When you start the pvserver on the remote machine, the windows paraview finishes the connection and everything is okay.

My experience on other platforms makes me think the correct behavior is to see text output telling me the gui/client side is waiting for a connection. This would be much more correct behavior than the apparent application freeze that happens.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
