Off screen rendering fails with 2d views
This issue was created automatically from an original Mantis Issue. Further discussion may take place here.
There is a bug in ParaView where 2d views don't work properly off screen. This desperately needs to be fixed, since it can present false data.
- Linux, local server, 4.1.0, hardware rendered (Mesa3d doesn’t seem to work) Run ParaView. Make sure that Offscreen Rendering is enabled.
- Open can.exo. All vars on. Apply.
- Plot over line. Apply.
- Split left screen vertical.
- Split right screen vertical.
- Grab the 2d, upper right view, and swap it with the lower left view.
- Select the upper right view, then can.exo in the pipeline browser, and enable visibility.
- Select the lower left view, then PlotOverLine in the pipeline browser, and enable visibility.
- Make sure you can easily get at an xterm. More in a moment.
- Save Animation. .png files. Save somewhere. Ok, Ok.
- Now, quickly put the xterm over the 2d and 3d views. Doesn’t need to be total. You can even full screen the xterm. Wait for a minute or so.
- View the images as a flipbook. I see the 3d views updating. However, anywhere that the 2d views are covered, they do not update!
