pick center does not select point on object

This issue was created automatically from an original Mantis Issue. Further discussion may take place here.

(testing version 4.1rc2)

Pick Center on a simple object (seen from e.g. z axis) sets x and y correctly but z is not on the object. Happens both in perspective and parallel projection.

The z seems to be random and can actually happen to be outside the clipping plane.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
