VisItBridge plugins for single timestep file formats don't work in master ...**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=13343). Further discussion may take place here.**
---
VisItBridge plugins for single timestep file formats don't work in master now that they try to use file series reader proxy to get numbered file time support.
Compile PV/Examples/Plugins/VisItReader and open a .cas file.
You get this error message:
ERROR: In /Source/ParaView/dashboards/ParaView/VTK/Common/ExecutionModel/vtkDemandDrivenPipeline.cxx, line 816
vtkPVPostFilterExecutive (0x135ef90): Input for connection index 0 on input port index 0 for algorithm vtkPVPostFilter(0x1f62c90) is of type vtkDataObject, but a vtkPolyData is required.
If you take out the file series reader from the mix with the attached patch, the problem goes away and the file loads properly. (NOTE: The </SourceProxy>\n</ProxyGroup> in that patch will be in master by the time anyway gets to this so you will probably have to edit the patch.

---
In the new properties panel, there is a toggle to show advanced options. This toggle is implemented with a button widget. These button widgets are conventionally used to invoke actions, and it's toggle behavior is confusing (see GUI Blooper "Using command buttons as toggles," http://books.google.com/books?id=cIY0JOAkLoYC&pg=PA66&lpg=PA66&dq=gui+blooper+toggle&source=bl&ots=uWwpXi3PqM&sig=pq3jazWL-yimwkcfV5UOrsSKVwk&hl=en&sa=X&ei=UXwiUJXVDsT5ygG4n4HQAQ&ved=0CFUQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=gui%20blooper%20toggle&f=false)
Use a different widget that better represents the notion of a toggle like a checkbox or perhaps a squared toolbutton like those toggles used in the toolbar.https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/13345SpyPlot Derived Properties create bad arrays when no materials are present.2018-08-23T15:16:58-04:00Kitware RobotSpyPlot Derived Properties create bad arrays when no materials are present.**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=13345). I will have this kind of problem every time I do like this:
1). I open a series of mesh files as mesh* files.
2). Then I open a layout view by click the '+' sign. A new tab with 2x2 views are generated.
3). Then if I add a 3D glyph and choose in the property tab glyph type as 'line', a output message window pops out and it says:
Generic Warning: In ..\..\..\..\src\ParaViewCore\ServerManager\vtkSMPropertyHelper.cxx, line 729
Call not supported for the current property type.
If I choose tab glyph type as 'arrow', there is not this warning.
another thing is that some times if I would like to change 'glyph type' from 'arrow' to
'line', only the glyph in the first view of the nxn views changes from the arrow to
line, there others remain to be arrow. but then if I close the comparative tab, paraview will
crash. https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/13353Color table presets should open at top of table, but they open at bottom2018-08-23T15:16:57-04:00Kitware RobotColor table presets should open at top of table, but they open at bottom**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=13353). ParaView 3.12 and below allowed vtkStringArrays to be used as the data arrays for the label mode of point labels of selections.

From mailing list (Patrick Shinpaugh)
-----------------------------------------
We added some functionality we were hoping you could add to the Paraview
source for next release. It adds a "Keep Random Points" checkbox to the
glyph filter such that if both "Mask Points" and "Random Mode" are
checked, it will maintain the same random points across all timesteps
rather than the default method of choosing a new set of random points
for each timestep. It is only useful if the same points are referenced
in the same order for each timestep. It should work cross platform.
You can see a comparison of current random and mask points
https://snoid.sv.vt.edu/~shpatric/100mb-random.avi
and random and mask points with keep random points
https://snoid.sv.vt.edu/~shpatric/100mb-random-kept.avi
A patch is attached.
If you have any questions, please let me know.https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/13364Cut filter uses custom panel2018-08-23T15:16:57-04:00Kitware RobotCut filter uses custom panel**This issue was created automatically from an original [Mantis Issue](http://paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=13364).
